You look across the table and notice a joker sitting in an exposed group of one-bands.

But you may not call that discarded tile use it to replace the joker and take that joker into your hand.

Now if you already hold the 1-Bam in your hand, then during your turn you may exchange it for that exposed joker.

You may also call a discarded 1-BAM if it completes a valid new exposure in your hand.

But once you call it, that discarded tile must become part of the exposure you called to create.

Speaking of discarded jokers, There's one tile that cannot be called from the discard table at all, and that's the Joker.

Once a Joker has been discarded, it is no longer eligible to be retrieved or used.

It simply sits there, perfectly valuable, completely visible, and entirely unavailable.

Not because I said so, although I am the coach, and that really ought to count for something, but because those are the rules of play.
