Gadgets & Gizmos: Humanoid robot teachers, flat bikes & souped-up car displays

Well, we are starting with smart teachers, or perhaps not so smart teachers, humanoid robot teachers.

that were planned for a school in upstate New York, an area called Salamanca, which has a very high Native American population.

And the local educators, as teachers like to call themselves, were absolutely up in arms about this, saying, we don't want our children taught by robots.

We especially don't want you experimenting on Native American children.

And then they discovered that the real botics The company that makes these humanoid robots also makes sex dolls.

And so they've cancelled it.

Surely that last bit should have been irrelevant.

I mean, virtually any publisher publicly publishes, you know, erotic fiction.

It doesn't mean you boycott the whole publisher.

That's true, yes.

Anyway, it

was enough to get more ammunition for them.

We had robotic teachers at school who just cited things in a monotone, usually reading from books, but not quite the same.

And in no way resembled sex dolls, I can be fairly sure.

No, indeed, they were quite different in those days.

But if it started there, no doubt it'll crop up somewhere else.

Oh, I'm sure it will.

Now that this company has moved on from sex dolls to robot teachers, they've been gassed to get them installed somewhere.
