A social media meme during the rounds depicts the Prime Minister as a McDonald's employee asking customers, do you want lies with that? I commented that the proposition was unrealistic because Anthony Albanese is underqualified to work at a fast food outlet.

But in every other respect, it rings true because the Prime Minister and his senior government colleagues have been getting on with the job of turning lying into an art form, but failing because they're not particularly good at it or anything else for that matter.

They continue to make the national housing crisis significantly worse with policies that break promises and are turning a crisis into a catastrophe for many Australians, including the record number of homeless people across the country.

And faced with the evidence that their policies are not only failing to make things better, but are undeniably making them worse, the senior members of the government lie.

Recently, we saw images of the Prime Minister waving a document which he claimed was proof that more homes were being built, when that document and all the other available evidence said quite the opposite.

It's hard to believe that Australia's political class could serve up a leader even more dishonest, inept and uninspiring than Scott Morrison.

Dr Mark Beeson is an adjunct professor at the University of Technology Sydney and at Griffith University, and he was previously professor of international politics at the University of Western Australia.

Dr Beeson wrote, you might think even the dimmest politician would want to steer well clear of Scott Morrison's underwhelming legacy, especially when they come from the allegedly more progressive side of politics.

He listed numerous incidents as evidence, but focused in particular on pork barrelling, which involves directing federal funds to electorates where incumbent government stands to benefit the most.

And Beeson said, the tone-deaf Morrison government doled out taxpayer funds to shore up marginal electorates via the Community Sports Infrastructure Program.

The exposure and extent of the blatant pork-barrelling overseen by former Minister for Sport, Bridget McKenzie, eventually led to her resignation.

And you have to wonder about the judgement of anyone who might think repeating this folly was a good idea.

Golf Club was promised $6 million for Albanese via an invitation only grants program.

At least the Morrison government had the decency to pretend that the disbursement of public funds had a competitive element to it.

It's now being pointed out that Albanese owns nearby multimillion dollar investment property, which benefits from the upgrade to the golf club.

I've seen video clips in which Albanese claims he has never had any involvement with the golf club and other video clips in which he claims he's a frequent visitor to the golf club and an avid supporter.

if you're going to lie you need a good memory and the prime minister clearly doesn't have one so now a new survey by resolve political monitor has found that 57 percent of australians don't trust the prime minister a report in the age newspaper said anthony albanese spent three decades building up trust with voters he lost it in a single day spending his political capital to shake up the tax system and now the receipts have arrived The Resolve Political Monitor survey found that one third of voters at 34%, to be precise, said they don't trust Albanese and they didn't trust them before the broken promises.

While another 23% said they'd lost trust in them because of the broken promises in the betrayal budget.
