Ivy Yu hasn't really felt like herself ever since her parents separated about six months ago.
She plans to work at the same camp as him, but all of that changes when her mother decides that Ivy and her are going to Japan on a bus tour.
But this bus tour is going to last for multiple weeks, and she's not going to be able to work at the camp with Connor, and so this means that her chances with him are basically over.
And when she actually shows up in Tokyo, she realizes that there basically are no other teenagers on this tour.
That is, everybody except Mateo, a teenage boy who's there with his single dad, Keith.
Abby begins to spend her days exploring Japan with her mother, and it's actually a really cool country.
Ivy's mother and Keith, Mateo's dad, are getting really close, maybe even too close to just be friends.
And as if that's not bad enough, Connor back home is actually seeing other people and Ivy finds out about it.
But, as Mateo and Ivy spend time trying to keep their parents from each other, they begin to get close themselves.
As they spend their days traveling around Japan, seeing all of the sights the country has to offer, Ivy and Mateo begin to grow closer and closer until there is no question that there is something between them.
