The Charlotte Mason Institute Gathering

Welcome back to our summer mini-series on conferences, conventions in the Southeast for homeschoolers.

Today, we are going to be talking about the conference held by the Charlotte Mason Institute every year.

And I'll be honest, I don't know if it's always in the Southeast, but it has always been in the Southeastern region since I've been aware of it.

So in 2024, it was in Kentucky.

In 2025, it was in St. Simons Island.

in Georgia.

And in 2026, it will be held in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

That's fun.

And in 2026, it will be July 23rd, 24th, and 25th.

Okay.

Is that a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or a Friday, Saturday,

Sunday? I believe it's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Okay.

So I went in 2025.

That was my first and so far only Charlotte Mason Institute conference.

And it was held in St. Simon's Island, which was

gorgeous.

Part of the reason I wanted to go, I was sort of on the fence of if I wanted to go or not.

And when I saw it was in St. Simon's Island, I was like, to my husband, please, can I go to this this year? I had taken a class.

So the Charlotte Mason Institute, just a little background about them.

They are a scholarly organization.

They are trying to continue, both continue Charlotte Mason's work, but also continue to research and mine and understand her approach and her philosophy and her life, also just who she was.

to be able to understand the Charlotte Mason approach in a really robust way.

And so they are doing scholarly articles.

They offer courses.
