What role does geography play in the assembling of a creative work like Secret Love?

I feel like each place that we demoed things and wrote things and recorded things just adds a totally different atmosphere.

Like we were recording at the loft and staying in a, like a small flat all together in Chicago.

And it was like, absolutely crazy fireworks kind of like um sort of like battering the flat it felt like we were kind of hiding indoors to be honest we were completely not used to it as uh Brits but um it yeah I don't know it's like All these sort of weird things that you go through when you're sort of like living together in a new place and working together and recording together, they all seem to wind up in the music, I guess.

And also, I suppose it's worth saying with The Loft, the amount of like amazing instruments and toys and just like...

Yeah, the collection that they have there is, it just makes you feel quite playful because there's stuff out ready to use everywhere, which isn't really the case with like most studios, is it? It's like the stuff isn't plugged in and it works, you know?
Everything's already in house, just ready to go.

And it might not wind up in the recording, but it makes you feel very kind of at ease.

I don't know, like the way you write something or record something makes you feel more playful, I think.

Like a lot of studios feel quite cold, right? As in there's lots of gear that none of us really know.

There's loads of outboard gear, loads of these racks, but they're not fun toys to play with.
