For this episode Dan and Michael are joined by Rowan Ellis (@heyrowanellis) to look back at a movie adaptation of a book that possibly Rowan and Rowan alone has seen and loved, The Thief Lord…
uh yeah so yeah this film the cast isn't insane um for for no reason other than just like being able to see the future yeah and being like yeah these guys yeah i think
all these
children i mean they do they do kind of have to be good actors because the film is very reliant on them being good yeah very reliant on them to tell the story
I did feel like the only times that I got taken out of it were the times where they have the four or five iconic lines that are so not lines that I think any adult professional award-winning Meryl Streep actor could make sound good.
that some classics, if I may, some of my favorites, which I quote all the time.
This is the first time I've watched the movie in a while, but I regularly quote this movie all the time.
The bit right at the beginning when Prosper is at the chemist and he decides not to steal.
it's fucking cinema it's fucking cinema my brother always does the you forgot something really important it's under my jumper me when I when he wants me to pay attention to him this is like a 30 something year old man at this point I also have used the trick that Prosper uses not Prosper that Scipio the Thief Lord uses on the little boy Bo when he is first at the hideout and he's like this is only for children.
Yeah, he's like, are you in disguise? And he goes, well, but four and a half, you're practically a VIP.
