Making a splash

So you've been a member of Kiwanis.

So tell me about, first of all, I'm from Illinois.

I'm a little small town in Illinois.

I don't know what a splash pad is.

What is a splash pad? All

right.

So our splash pad is made out of mosaic tiles.

It's 22,000 square feet, 52 feet in diameter.

It's made over 1.1 million tiles, all colored tiles.

It was initially a coloring project, an art project done in the city.

And 14 kids won the contest.

And their artwork is actually on the splash pad made out of tiles.

Okay.

And who ran the contest? The city of Deerfield Beach?

The city of Deerfield Beach did that.

We have such a great partnership with them.

Okay.

A great relationship.

The Community Redevelopment Agency reached out to us asking if we would want to be a part of their splash pad there at Sullivan Park.

Of course, we said yes because we had just had our amazing golf tournament and we netted $25,000.

And we got to talk a

little bit more about that.

So the splash pad.

So water just comes up and kids run around.

The water pools up a little bit.
