Esther RollhausGuestNathan FoxHostBut in fact, you wanted to pivot and actually tell your story, which is plot twist, which is great.

I've been listening to your podcast and I've been so inspired by the other people on it who have shared their stories.

And not just you, but in other podcasts, there have been so many brave people who have come out and shared their own stories.

And I do want to get my story out there because I think it can really help other people.
What was it sort of that made you shift from not telling people your story to wanting to tell people your story?

I mean, part of it is sitting with patients and every patient comes into me, they say, Dr. Rollhouse, I'm really a normal person.

And so in psychiatry, we don't have a practice of disclosing person to person.

But if this would be helpful to any patients out there who are like, I'm not normal.

We're all humans, all with humans, with brains, with vulnerabilities, with hormones, and with stories.

And I think like encounter after encounter, listening to people, I'm always like, there's so much shame.
