Number one is the cost of living adjustment.
Will your fixed income sources like your pension, social security actually get an increase? Long story short for FERS age 62 plus, yes, you'll get a 2.6% increase.
Or if you're already taking Social Security, again, you're going to get a 3.6% increase.
So these are not massive increases, but we'll take anything we can get.
So that is, of course, going to start early next year in 2027.
But, of course, on the inverse here, FEHB premiums on average will increase about 11%, which is a big, big jump.
But, of course, this is on average.
So you want to see what your plan is going to do because your plan may be a 20% increase.
Other plans, maybe five.
There's just different increases depending on your specific plan.
So you wanna go check, okay, after I get the cost of living adjustment on my pension, after I pay for the higher premiums, am I actually better off? That's what you wanna make sure you figure out.
Next, if you are on Medicare, the cost of Medicare is going up.
Right now it's $203.
Fortunately, it's not going up tremendously, but certainly some.
It's going up to about $210 per month.
So about $7 difference.
So on a yearly basis, we're talking about 80 some dollars per year.
So it's not that big of a difference, which we of course are grateful for.
We always like small numbers.
Now keep in mind, this is not the finalized numbers, but it is the estimate.
It should be right around there.
