What's the POINT of a vacation? To relax, to explore new places, to eat good food, to enjoy time with your people? Yes, of course. But there's also something way bigger than that, and I don't want…
So in today's chat, we are taking a step way, way back and talking through the actual point and purpose of a vacation.
which you might already have an idea of what that is, but honestly, it's like a whole conversation.
And I love that this topic has followed last week's deeper conversation about living a purposeful life and seeing or finding the bigger point of the smaller things in your life and like how it fits into your overall life.
Because today we are taking that conversation a step further and diving into that, but specifically about vacations.
And again, this chat will get us headed towards some massive clarity about the vacations we wanna be putting on our vacation vision boards here in a few weeks.
What do you think the point of a vacation is? What comes to mind? I think some super common answers are to relax, to explore other cultures, to see new places, to eat good food, to enjoy time with your family, your friends, your husband, whoever you're traveling with, to meet new people, stuff like that.
So the point can kind of vary depending on you and what you're wanting from your next vacation.
And I feel like I probably say this on like, I don't know, every other episode or so.
But I always say the whole point of a vacation is to give you whatever feeling it is you're craving right now.
If it's been a while since you've been anything but mommy, maybe you're craving a trip where you get to feel like a unique person again and live it up a little bit, maybe with your girlfriends.
So whatever feeling you're currently craving in your season of life, your vacation should give you that.
Like all those feelings are very specific and different, but really summing it up all together, a vacation should re-energize you.
And just to be clear, re-energize does not necessarily mean that it's a relaxing vacation.
Whatever feeling you're craving is what will be the thing to re-energize you.
And that's kind of the magic of vacations, right? They can help us show back up in our normal work-life routines, all bright, shiny, and new again.
and feel refreshed, re-energized, and happier, right? So feeling re-energized from our vacations is kind of the point, but it's only half the answer.
