Amanda makes the case for the one thing that has done more for her business growth than any offer, marketing strategy, or sales technique: capacity. If you're a therapist who knows your offer works…

You have to post more, sell better, find a bigger audience, maybe put some money behind ads.

But for a lot of you listening, and for myself as well, three... three years and maybe like a month or two ago, like that's where we start to hit an actual ceiling, right? It's, we know that our offer work, we have testimonials, we've got really good experiences with our clients and they're coming back and more people keep finding us.

Maybe as a therapist, you've got a wait list or you have a coaching program where people keep asking when the next round is.

That's when I officially opened doors, got my first client, and I started my coaching business in, I think the month I registered the business was May or June of 2023.

So a little over a year later, and I was still running a therapy business and now starting a second business.

And I see this constantly with the therapists I work with in my mastermind who build a really solid private practice and a great first coaching offer, course offer, whatever it might be.

They come to me convinced like, well, I just need a better funnel or I just need a better sales strategy or whatever it is when what they actually need, what I actually needed as I started to diversify my income strings was just like three or 5,000 fewer things on our plates so that we could actually think straight.

Most marketing and like more marketing, it's not going to fix capacity problems.

in fact it actually just makes it worse because the more you are marketing this thing that you love and that you're passionate about and you're clearly very good at the more you market that it's actually going to make your problem worse because more people want in and you still have no room I had to have my coach sit down and talk with me at some point about like, why are you even still doing consultations for your therapy practice if you don't actually have openings for your therapy practice? And that's a little challenging for me when my weekly caseload generally, yes, is full, but I still like to book one to two, maybe even three intensives in a month.

But it is challenging, right? Like it is challenging to think if I just stop marketing or if I don't just focus on marketing, how is that actually going to fix my problem? But again, we have to talk about capacity.

And so I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when finally I I knew I could not do it alone, right? Like I was seeing at that point, maybe between 15 to 20 weekly clients, I was doing one to three intensives a month and starting now this coaching business where I'm attending.
