The first listener letter we have.

Am I the asshole for wanting to break up with my boyfriend because we don't share the same religious beliefs?

Interesting.

Very interesting.

I'm talking church every Sunday.

He got baptized and now he thinks everything is a sin.

He thinks listening to secular music like rap and rock is a sin.

For those that don't know, secular music is just like non-gospel, non-Christian music.

Secular just means non-religious.

Right.

Okay.

Yeah.

I'm talking church every Sunday.

He thinks listening to secular music like rap and rock is a sin.

He thinks being gay is a sin, which is a huge problem for me because we both have gay siblings.

I have a gay sister and so does he.

And now he's constantly lecturing his sister about how her life decisions are a choice and that being gay is going to send her to hell.

It's not him being Christian that's the problem for me.

It's the fact that we both used to be atheists.

And I can respect anybody's belief, but once they start crossing over into attacking people based on their life choices, that's when it becomes a problem for me.

I genuinely can't see myself marrying or being with someone who thinks homosexuality is a sin because, again, my sister is my best friend and she is gay.

And he has started to make her and everyone else uncomfortable.

No one else in his family is religious.

And so for him to be so extreme out of nowhere feels random because he was never like this before.
