Forest Grumps

This episode, Forest Grumps, originally aired on July 6th, 2000 in Japan, and in the US on June 2nd, 2001.

And last week we saw our first shiny Pokemon, shiny Noctowl, which was, you know, a little bit different than the colors we may be used to.

But I think things morphed over time in Ash's inventory to make this align more with the greenish, goldish, kinda whatever color you wanna call shiny Noctowl.

But we do have a shiny in the game, or in the, in the anime right now, which is pretty cool.

Uh, we also had the US scheduled release of last week's episode was not aligned with the Japanese release schedule.

So we saw, like, some things jump, you know, jump ahead, jump behind, and I was like...

I did some research.

I was like, "Why did they air things out of order?" And it-

Let's see.

Yeah

...

it all kind of roots back to, like, that Porygon episode where things got banned, and then there was other banned episodes.

And then just to kind of compensate for things they, they did some jumbling, and they did it in a way where they thought it wouldn't, you know, mess with the story.

So that's when you have these, like, sidewinder episodes.

Whether they happen or not, it doesn't really matter to the greater arc of, of the story.

So was there a banned episode around this time? Is that what happened? Like, is that, like-

There...

Not around this time.

It was still just this is just how they got caught up.

They just pushed it all the way-

Oh

... all the way out here 'cause it was a couple weeks behind, and then they pushed things forward.

Um, which is r-

That makes so much sense.

Yeah.
