A Payslip Can Change a Life: Inside the AskMandla Story

it kind of it It kind of brings me back to my early days of podcasting when I was still at Cliff Central.

And we had something that arrived in South Africa that you're going to get a light bulb now.

It arrived in South Africa and it was being heavily marketed.

And for us at Cliff Central, it was part of our little universe because it was a WhatsApp app.

that had different sort of apps inside of it.

It was called WeChat.

And it never really picked up in South Africa.

It's huge in Asia.

I mean, in some parts of Asia, it's how you pay your bills.

It's how you do absolutely everything.

Because it's so simple.

It's a one communication point that does everything.

And you've created that using WhatsApp for something that's going to help someone else in South Africa.

It's genius.

100%.

But it's amazing to see how that space has transformed over the last year.

The number of companies that are now going WhatsApp first are just, I mean, there's some phenomenal people that are predecessors to us that have done amazing work.

I want to mention the guys from Community Wolf where they have security within WhatsApp.

They pioneered that sort of space.

There's some of the guys within our industry that have done it first in the same sort of thing where using WhatsApp as a tool to educate and sell your products and services.

It's just a natural fit.

That's where we're talking.

Yeah, that's where we are.

We've got to learn from other parts of the world that are doing that already.
