//// T I M E C O D E S 0:00 – Intro: XRP & tokenization supercycle framing 1:15 – Channel intro & transition into interview 1:30 – Matt Hougan on market resilience & year-end outlook 3:30…
Johnny KryptoHostWell, what's exciting about that is that the prospect of making money by investing in the altcoins that will absorb all of this capital, right? And I think the interesting thing about tokenized assets is that it's taking existing markets and migrating them onto blockchains.
Now, I went through and I watched a bunch of your interviews and you talked about Near Protocol having the potential to do a 30x Let's just call it the next five and a half years or some extended timeframe here.
But what I think that speaks to is the opportunity that you see in these altcoin products.
And what we've heard from investors like Tom Lee is that because of the tokenization of real world assets, not only is this going to validate the asset class, but it's going to drive trillions of dollars worth of existing value onto these public blockchains.
Do you believe in that thesis as well, that there's trillions of dollars worth of assets that exist today that will become tokenized, put live on chain, and then that value will accrue on the underlying networks? Or do you have a different perspective on that?
Yeah, I mean, this is one of the few cases where I'm going to use a bigger number than Tom Lee.
He is the king of large numbers, but I'm going to say it's hundreds of trillions of dollars of assets will move on chain.
That does not mean that the underlying protocols on which it moves, transfers, is used, et cetera, are worth hundreds of trillions of dollars.
But there is a relative ratio as the scale of assets secured by a blockchain increase, as the volume of activity increases, as the volume of sort of useful application increases, a portion of that accrues to those underlying tokens.
And the amazing thing about it is look it's not just me saying all assets will be tokenized and move over these major layer one blockchains goldman sachs is saying it robin hood is saying it blackrock is saying it the sec is saying it the cftc is saying it all the biggest names are saying it and the whole space If you exclude Bitcoin, which isn't really relevant, I love Bitcoin, but it's digital gold.
There's no way, you know, hundreds of trillions of dollars moves onto blockchain and the space is worth less than a trillion dollars.
