A fun conversation with Celine and Sarah of the Barrels and Banter Podcast where we talk all things outdoors, retrievers and shooting.
[laughs] Yeah, so long as you're talking about the dancing, we'll get right into that.
So, um, it, it's, being, I guess, British and, you know, y- you kinda get the impression people are just more reserved there than they would be over here.
But then I saw that and I'm like, boy, they look like they're having a lot of fun, particularly on, you know, some of those shoots are very formal, and there's, like, so much stuff.
But how did, so how did you talk [laughs] the rest of the guys, like, into participating-
Because it's, this, this is a shoot that Celine runs, so she just says, "I'm not letting you unless you dance."
[laughs] I think we, we, we just, we wanted to bring something a bit different to the party.
Possibly it could come to an outside, uh, an outside that maybe is a bit standoffish and fussy.
But actually, it, there's a massive tradition that sits around field sports in the UK, and a lot of it is traditionally to be done in a certain way, and people like to keep traditions alive here.
And I think that's a great thing, but with it, some people sometimes take it too far, and I feel it can alienate new people coming into something.
And there's not, I'm not saying loads of people can be like that, but there, there are some.
And it can seem like we're untouchable to outsiders and that we don't want people to come in.
And I- Yes ... we kind of then started doing this, and a few people went, "Oh my gosh," like you've just said.
I think there's this perception that people that shoot on pheasant shoots round here have got loads of money, live in big mansions, and they're really a bit stuck up.
