Someone out there is half as talented as you, living a version of your dream just because they had the audacity to put themselves out there. When I heard that, I didn't get angry, I got lit up…

My friend Olivia and I have started joking about it, because every time I see it, I send it to her.

And I feel like audacity is screaming at me from everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

Like, it has been following me around, stalking me, showing up in articles, conversations, random corners of the Internet in a way that feels a little too intentional to ignore.

It's kinda like the new confidence, right? Like, everyone wants to be confident.

I feel like the new confidence is audacity, but there's something guttural about this word to me that goes beyond being bold or being confident or being brave.

Audacity is all of those things wrapped up together, mixed with grit and a little bit of risk, and a healthy dose of delusion in an unshakable belief in yourself and in possibilities that amazing things can happen for you.

And it is something that I'm actively trying to call more into my life, 'cause as I've kept seeing it everywhere, I've kind of done a little mini life audit and inventory of, like, if I had more audacity in some of these arenas, how would that change the actions that I'm taking and how I'm showing up? And the answer is majorly.

And I'm sure as I'm even talking about this, certain things are coming up for you in your brain that you're like, "Hm, yeah, okay, I could definitely take a couple extra risks here or put myself out there a little bit more." So that is what we are talking about today.

What You Need is the Audacity, and it referenced something from The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, that audacity is actually more important to success than talent.

I have seen it play out over and over and over again in my own life and in the life of every successful person that I've had the pleasure to come in contact with.

I'm very fascinated in people's stories, and I feel like time and time again, you see certain moments in their life that you're like, "That changed the entire trajectory of everything." And usually, there was moments where they had to, like, make a hard decision, put themselves out there, totally pivot and try something new, and just, like, be audacious as fuck, and it changed everything for them.
