What even is a profit and loss report? Well, this can be really confusing because there's lots of names for this report.

So you might have heard it called the income statement, the profit and loss, the P&L.

And the To put it simply, this is basically a scorecard for your business over a specific period of time.

This is money that you may have made from referrals and received from a referral partner.

And then there's one more term that you might have heard, which is gross profit, which is what's left after you subtract direct costs of delivering your product or service before other expenses come out.

So If you're calculating gross profit, you'll see revenue minus those direct costs, or you may have heard it called cost of goods sold.

Then you take out your regular expenses, and then you'll see your net profit or loss.

So revenue is not profit, as you can hopefully see from just defining those terms.
