Send us Fan Mail Inkjet gets called “printing” so often that we forget what it really can be: a manufacturing tool that adds function, not just…
And I kind of wanna talk about something else now, which, which is equally as fascinating and is, is a, a really interesting part of print in general.
Um, which is, I believe you work in accessible signage, so braille and tactile lettering.
Just tell us firstly what that process looks like.
So, uh, usually, uh, we develop these, um, yeah, technology or using the inkjet technology, uh, for, uh, tactile, um, features, uh, turning, uh, like this.
Um, where we print several layers, uh, on top of each other with, um, a certain material we develop together with the partner, which is, uh, very resistant and, uh, very, has very good adhesion on the broad range of materials, uh, so that you can use it, uh, in the indoor as well as in the outdoor.
...
That means, uh, we meet the very strong regulations, uh, with this, uh, system.
And, uh, one of these tactile, uh, feature, uh, belongs to, uh, braille letters.
So this was the first application, uh, we picked and then say, "Okay, how we can show the world, uh, that, uh, inkjet as a tool can produce braille signs very easily?" And there we dropped in.
Uh, so we, we developed first, uh, we get in touch with what is braille, how does it looks like, what are the regulations, what is the height, and so on and so on.
Mm.
Yes.
Yeah, I can see that.
Yeah, yeah.
Mm.
