So most of the time, and this is a bit generalized, so please don't take it personally, but people want a destination but resist the journey.
The moment we decide we want something, reality kicks in.
Oh, I don't know where to start, or I'm too busy, or what if I fail, or...
I'm not ready to do this or I need to learn more first, right? All of a sudden, the dream feels impossible.
All of a sudden, everything seems way too hard.
But maybe the issue isn't necessarily capability because a lot of the time, we are capable of doing things.
We just don't know how to do the things.
It's the willingness to learn.
That's what we're lacking.
Everyone wants a view from the mountain, but few people actually want to climb it.
And I think that's a really good analogy because when I first started doing this podcast, when I first started my reselling business, I had ideas of things.
But until I got into the nitty gritty of routine, scheduling, actually being consistent, actually showing up, actually putting work in, and actually spending the time that I had to actually get results and tangible results.
And a lot of the time, it's just doing experience, doing reps to only learn to make mistakes to figure out how to do it better.
Until I did that, we did not see growth in my business.
It just did not happen.
Part two of all of this, or point two, is the gap between wanted and willing, right? Are you willing to wake up earlier to get something done? Are you willing to learn something new? Are you willing to ask stupid questions? Are you willing to fail publicly? Are you willing to look inexperienced? Are you willing to practice when nobody's watching? Are you willing to sacrifice comfort? Because every goal quietly will ask this from you.
What are you willing to exchange for me? And that's the cost of getting the greatness that you want, the dream that you want, the goal that you want, the idea that you have.
That's the cost of actually having to do all these different things.
Now, they won't always exist, but you're going to have to tick them off as you go through because that's just the reality.
Because a lot of the time to get to where we want to be, we've never done it before.
Therefore, we have to become something that we've never done before, which means we're going to have to get uncomfortable.
