If you've ever told yourself, *"I'll start a real lifting program once I'm more consistent,"* this episode is going to flip that whole idea on its head. We're digging into why waiting to feel ready is…

So I've spoken to scores and scores, uncountable numbers of women over the years.

So, you know, I'm not just talking out of my ass here in strong with Steph, which is my signature lifting program for athletic women over 40 years.

But when we take all of the lifting programs I've ever had, and that includes everything from made strong.

the program in my book, which is the core four, basic barbell, dynamic dumbbells, and then all of the people I've worked with in person over the years.

And then of course, people that I haven't worked with, but I hear from in my DMs and stuff like that on Instagram.

I'm confident in saying that lack of consistency is one of the, if not the most, common reasons that people tell me that they're not currently following a lifting program yet.

So again, I think I've said this on the podcast before, I tend not to work with ultra beginners.

I really do think, and this comes from now 16 years of lifting and coaching for over 10 years, I really do think that if you can get in person and work with somebody who's a coach, a personal trainer, and spend some time in person, you're going to be off to the best start.

But let's say you're somebody who's done a little bit of dabbling and lifting before.

You took a break because you were finding it hard to manage lifting and your sport.

And so a lot of, you know, I'm a hobbyist athlete in the sport of Brazilian jujitsu.

I don't do a lot of competing these days, but I'm in the gym training quite a bit.

you know, it's kind of half marathon, marathon and triathlon season as the time of this podcast recording, it's getting toward the late September.

So sometimes people are finding it's just hard to have a lifting program at the moment.

And oftentimes when I speak to people, they say, well, I, I'm not consistent enough to do a lifting program right now.

I have some experience, but I, I've struggled to put lifting into practice on a regular basis.

And so my answer to that is to wait until I can get more consistent and then I'll invest in a strength training program to guide me because I'll finally have proved to myself that I deserve that level of structure, organization, and and even coaching support by having a strength training program.
