This session shares key segments of the Franklin (MA) Town Council meeting held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The Council held this session as scheduled beginning at 6 PM. 9 members participated…
So what have we been up to? We spent the first few months doing basic committee stuff.
We have four subcommittees, budget fundraising, comms, events, and historical importance.
We adopted a values and norms framework.
We adopted a time policy.
Just saying.
I'll talk a little bit later about the earmark that we spent, but we spent $50,000 in fiscal year 26.
We adopted a brand guide that includes our logo, which you see in the top right there, font and color guides too, so our communications are consistent and recognizable.
We have a basic shape for what we think 2028 will look like, but it's certainly not set in stone.
We've reached out to town departments, to organizations in town, different stakeholders, and other towns who have had or are planning anniversaries like this to learn from what they've done.
And we also have, in addition to the event, some projects that we hope will outlast what we do in 2028.
So we've been building and now we're kind of transitioning to engaging.
We're working with the Horace Mann Legacy Subcommittee from the school committee there.
Two of our members are on that board too.
Collaborating with obviously the historical museum and starting to fundraise.
2028 is gonna be the year of celebration.
But like I said, we hope a lot of what we do outlasts that calendar year and is something that remains beneficial to the town thereafter.
