Tanya YatesPanelistAnd then I had an epiphany about a play that I wanted to see if I could execute.
As in like, if I went first on this table versus this boogeyman, that is a bad matchup for my army, which I also have, which is the Marine army.
I deployed the stuff that was easy for me to get, the stuff that I thought would be relevant in this interaction.
And then I went and deployed the pieces of the Chaos Knight army I needed to see if it executed.
And what I needed to see is if I had a stalker that scouted, moved, and then created a bubble of nine inches of minus two leadership, if I could extend that to full coverage on my opponent's expansion if I went first.
And then if that did, where would I need to be to be hidden from reprisal with that stalker? Like what was the perfect placement or what their response would be? So I played that first turn, then it went around the other side of the table, oathed the stalker and tried to see if I could kill it.
This is some of the stuff I did when I was trying to figure out how to get good at 40K and Old World as well when I was playing Old World.
I'd rack up two armies and play first turns against each other and stuff like that.
Like you can put, like when you're trying to look at like coherency, like look at what is the max you could ever get with coherency in the new rules, you know, or we used to be, what is the actual footprint of 10 terminators in 40 millimeter bases? Like what would it look like? Those are types of things you can do yourself.
Well, I ended up doing that same, I don't call it a game more than I play a scenario.
