Lisa and I talk about: - bringing awareness to things you want to change - goal setting - taking the smallest step, even on your worst days - how this impacts on those around you - her one big piece…
Lisa DobbieGuestFlying Solo HostHostHi, welcome to today's episode of the Flying Solo podcast.
Today I met with Lisa Dobby from Rise Hub HQ and we talked about the concept of not being stuck with the who you are today.
So you're not obligated to continue to be the person that you are today, even the person you were five minutes ago.
We had a really, really good conversation and we share some, I think, great tips and strategies and how you can start to think about bringing awareness to perhaps an area in your life that you'd like to make some changes in and how you can go about doing that without feeling that paralysis from being overwhelmed because you feel like you have to overhaul all of the things or go in 100% on day one.
And we talk a bit about the gyms in January.
People decide they're going to go six days a week and it lasts for five minutes and then by February you're not going at all.
So we talk about bringing awareness to it first of all and we talk about what is it that you actually want to change and what's the reason for that and where do you actually want to get to.
We talk about setting the goal and how specific you need to be about that so that you can know when you have achieved that goal.
And we talk about how you then break that down into some small sustainable steps that you can continue to carry out even on your worst day.
We then talk a little bit about the environment around you and how when you start to make changes over time that means that perhaps your values and your beliefs change and that means that you change as a person and what does that mean for the environment around you so whether that's the physical environment whether that's the people and the relationships that you have and we just talk a little bit about the impact that that can have and perhaps how you can manage that as you see these changes starting to bring out a different person or a new part of you that you maybe didn't have before and then we talk about what's Lisa's one piece of advice that she would give for you in order to start to make those changes and yeah it was just a really good conversation that I think offers lots of ways and practical steps that you can take to implement into your life to make some changes So we'll dive right in and enjoy.
