Love What You Heard? Send a message! You sit down to meet your future self, expecting a polished “next level” version with perfect habits and a…
So this actually happened last year.
A friend and I were getting together for a full moon ritual and it actually lined up with her birthday last year in August.
And so it was perfect because it was like, okay, we'll do this full moon ritual.
It's your birthday.
We'll do like some releasing.
We'll get ready for like, you know, what's to come and, and the fall and, you know, finishing out this year, like incredibly exciting.
And so we get outside and we like start a fire.
We gather all of the things for full mooning.
We've got our workbook or our notebooks.
We've got like some, some Palo Santo, you know, we've got the Oracle cards, we've got the whole thing.
And, um, and I was like, okay, like what, you know, what do we want to do? What do we want to journal on? What do we want to visualize about? And so I actually asked chat at that time, I was like, we're going to do a full moon ritual.
It's August, you know, we have a birthday, like what sort of prompts can you give us to like move through this particular one? And so it actually gave us a prompt for visualization.
So it was like, you know, visualize your future self.
And I hear about this a lot, right? Is it's like, if you are the person that you are right now, and there's a place that you want to be, that is like a future version of yourself.
And it is really helpful to think about what that future version of yourself would be doing so that you can close the gap, right? I talk a lot about like closing the gap of like when you can create awareness of where you are and where you want to be and where the gap is between what that version of yourself is doing and what this version of yourself is doing, then you have like a roadmap.
We can't go anywhere unless we know exactly how we're going to get there.
Or like, we can't get to a destination if we're not sure exactly where we're going, you know? So I do really believe there's actually a lot of power in future self visualizations.
And so I was like, okay, like, let's do it.
Let's, I also believe they're like a good kind of like check-in of like, because there's so many, there's so many visualizations out there.
There's so many conversations about future self and there's so many prompts about things you could be doing and and things you want you know how you want your day to look like and all these sorts of things and so it's it's really valuable to like figure out what you want that to look like and also that can change over time so when you have these like regular opportunities where you get quiet with yourself and you think about what you want that to look like then you can kind of get there and know if you have to reroute or redirect the GPS to where you're going.
So it prompted us to do this visualization.
And it was very simple, basic.
It wasn't like, what is this whole lavish life look like of this future self-visualization? But it very much was like, okay, what is this version of you doing day in and day out? So it was like, all of these prompts that I find actually to be really helpful.
So if you're sitting down thinking about, Ooh, I, it's, you know, it's my time to do a future self visualization.
Like maybe you can note some of these things from this particular prompt.
