John and Ashley Tinker unpack practical ways to reduce stress, reframe pressure, and protect your energy in daily life. The episode blends personal experience, simple mindset shifts, and real-world…
I would say it's somewhat unavoidable because the world we live in today, my goodness, there are so many things that are going on that we don't have any control over.
Many times we feel like we're the puck and have no control over what's happening to us.
But also even on a smaller scale in your home, you know, if you're raising children, you have, you have stressors, you go to public school, you do homeschool.
It doesn't matter what your lifestyle is, your marriage, your finances, your grocery.
I mean, every single thing there's stressor and, and it could be, again, we talk about reframing a lot, but those things could add stress, but we're hoping we can help you with with taking that and shifting it into something different.
And again, we're going to be sharing a number of different things that you can do.
We're going to give you a weekly challenge to do something based on the things we're going to share with you.
But It all comes down to what each of us are willing to do and willing to accept and feel that, okay, this happened to me.
It wasn't my fault, but what am I going to do with it? How am I going to deal with it? And go on from there.
One of the things, and I've mentioned this before, and I don't want to keep harping on it, but I went through a medical issue with my cancer that they didn't expect me to get through it.
And so after that, I realized that, and recently a friend, a co-worker of mine that I knew for many years and taught with was killed in a traffic accident that was really just an accident.
And so you look at these things and you say, okay, what am I going to do today to make it Every day is a bonus for me.
I don't want to lose the opportunity to do something good for somebody else or make the world a little better or whatever.
I'm not trying to be the savior or anything like that, but just realizing that today's the day that you can actually do something.
So are you going to wallow in your stress or are you going to find some ways around it?
Yeah, like just really it's that mindset, right, of knowing that yesterday's yesterday and tomorrow's tomorrow, like being present where your feet are.
But also to kind of piggyback what you said about doing something for someone else, I've always thought that.
Like if you've got something going on in your life – and this is really a personal thing, but I think it works – but like if you've got something going on in your life – And you go do something for someone else, and especially if they can't repay you, there's something about that that just puts you back into your place.
