Dave has traveled a fascinating path, from fisheries management and working at sea as an observer aboard commercial fishing vessels to becoming a passionate advocate for Australia's commercial fishers.
Today, he works alongside Ocean Watch and its Master Fisherman program, helping ensure responsible fishers are recognized for their skill, stewardship, and commitment to improving the way they fish.
Few people are better placed to understand both the challenges of fishing and the importance of telling the stories of those who do it well.
East Edge Fishing is platform, an experimental platform, uh, to give the industry a little bit of voice to show the public and the consumers what modern-day fishing is.
Uh, we just wanted to show particularly the consumers, who are really the, the silent minority, uh, that they can sort of trust and respect the modern-day fishing industry.
