I am so excited to talk with you today about your new books, which I've read cover to cover.

mean, when you're really excited about something, I feel like people ask, how do you have the time to read? But believe me, I found the time and...
I did take a risk to put them in two books, right? One for boys and one for girls.
But you know, it just flowed out of me with clarity because I just knew that we are at a real cultural emergency and our children need help from the parents and the parents need help.
So these are my gifts to parents with a very clear blueprint and a strong wake up call to get their shit together and help these kids.

Well, you know, so many parenting books are for children, right? And it's sort of this generality, right? And I love that you had the courage to say, hey, raising sons and daughters is different.

And so I started with the, you know, raising conscious sons because I have two sons and I read it cover to cover.

And as we'll get into, there was so much about the physicality and the movement and the expression of emotions.

Wow, this really sounds especially like my older son and things he's going through.

And then I thought about myself as a daughter because I don't have a daughter.

And it was so complex, Dr. Shefali, about what we feel and how we process as women.

Number one, if you could explain a little bit more, not inequality, but raising daughters and sons is different and why you chose to write these two books.

And with my friends that have daughters, sometimes we hear raising girls is much harder.
