Business growth is often seen as a sign of success, but as a company expands, the demands on its founder can increase just as quickly. Without the right team, systems, and leadership structure, growth…

Joe PatneaudeGuestMiracle AbazieHostI was actually looking forward to this conversation because one thing that businesses struggle with is growing and, you know, the business... growing without putting much pressure on the founder.
And even though that we expect to grow and have more freedom, it's as if that's not what happens for most leaders.
Well, what do you think happens when businesses grow and founders are now getting the freedom that it would have come with?

You know, that's a very interesting question, and it definitely has more than one cause.

I think, you know, if we look at it at a high level, those of us who have started business, you know, where we've been a founder-led business and then we've gone through the growth process, I think we've all seen growth.

You know, the challenges that come with wearing every hat and trying to do everything yourself and being the one point of contact for everything.

And then the struggle of how do you replicate yourself for the business to grow? And I think that is a big part of it.

I also believe that, you know, and this I don't think is specific to any one region of the world.

you know, the mentality out there right now is that you have to hustle harder, hustle harder, because if you're not doing as well as the next guy, you're failing.

So if your values, for example, Miracle, are to have more freedom and more flexibility, if you're not doing the things that are actually going to create that freedom and flexibility, and you're just chasing, you know, the next lead or the next revenue target, All of that is going to pull you away from the goals you originally set up your business for.

And that is what I have found to be the most consistent theme is that we can almost always track, you know, the challenges that people are facing and leading their business and not getting the freedom they want, not getting the results they want, can almost always be tracked back to the fact that they drifted away from the values that caused them to start their business in the first place.
So the question that this raises is that, do you think there is other things that have kept them stuck in their business? Because some of them, it's not that they don't really want to stick to the plan.
So do you think there are other things, maybe financial, that would have also, you know, caused the founder dependency?

you know, there's always multiple factors, right? That's why I say it's not always easy to see the direct connection back to values, but it is always there.

And, you know, again, when you're starting a business, you know, for everybody out there who is a founder, who's an entrepreneur, we all know that, you know, money's a real thing.

We all have bills to pay and there's only a certain amount of it that we have to work with.
