They tell of your mighty acts." When you hear the word legacy, you may think about what someone leaves behind at the end of their life.

I watched my parents trust God and pray and believe His Word and keep going through some pretty difficult times.

They weren't perfect and neither was our family, but faith, it was our foundation.

Today, one of my greatest blessings is watching that faith continue through my children and grandchildren.

Maybe what was modeled for you was dysfunction and fear and anger, maybe instability or addiction, or simply a life where God wasn't part of the conversation.

Just because you didn't come from a healthy, faith-filled family doesn't mean one can't come from you.

With God's help, you can decide that certain patterns stop with you and something new begins with you.

It happens when your children hear you pray, when they watch you forgive someone who hurts you, when you apologize because you got it wrong, when they see you turn to God in a difficult situation instead of allowing fear to control you.

It happens in the words you speak over them and every time you remind them that God is for them and their lives have purpose.

Maybe you're thinking, "But I've already made so many mistakes." Well, welcome to the club.

Maybe there have been patterns in your family for generations that you don't want to pass on.

You may not have chosen what was handed to you, but you can choose what continues through you.
