289. Packing Adventures With Bill Workman

bill keeps a journal and so he knows how many nights he stayed at black bear cabin which is the first old cabin that was on on the south fork built in the 1920s so bill knows exactly how many nights he stayed there and he has a pretty cool journal list of all of his stuff yeah i've

spent about three years at black bear one night at a time

Hey, you know, that's cool.

I'm always telling folks, keep a journal of these things.

And a lot of folks go, well, you know, I didn't do anything exciting.

It's like, well, someday it'll be fun for you to look back on that or your grandkids or whatever, look back on that and go.

Yeah.

Grandpa Bill did spend three years at this cabin.

That's pretty neat.

You know, that's, that's important.

And it's fun just to, there's something about looking back on a, on a daily record and you just, and it brings back the memory of that day, even if it was just a mediocre day, it was still a day.

Yeah.

That's all we like is those mundane days, but, uh, you know, days when they're a little exciting, of course, and, I've actually been really fortunate or really lucky or both.

Never have knock on wood, but never had anything real serious happen.

So some people talk about their wrecks every day.

Like that's just the norm.

And I go, well, good for you.

But I like them days that I don't have no wrecks, which is most all the time.

So.

Well, that's saying something that's, you know, you do it, you do it right.

And that's how it's supposed to be, you know, and I get it.

There's stuff that comes up that.

Oh, it does.

You're going to have some troubles, but yeah.

I mean, that's just part of the adventure, but, but yeah, I've all the stuff that we can avoid.
