Now, once there was a group of young single adults who decided to go to an amusement park they had never been to before.
They loved the steep climbs and the sudden drops, the loops, the turns and the twists, and especially the speed.
They tightened their seat belts for safety according to the instructions that they'd been given.
As the ride began, they were filled with excitement and anticipation, even though they had absolutely no idea what to expect or how fast or slow the roller coaster might go or how long it would last.
Everything seemed to tremble beneath them and for a moment it seemed as if the cars might leave the track.
They rode a short distance more and then without warning everything just stopped.
The riders sat anxiously trying to be patient and wanted to get started again and then they began to worry.
The coaster operator announced that there would be a delay in completing the ride, and as they waited at the very top of the track, he simply concluded with, thank you for your patience and understanding.
Like, that was it? As the riders waited, they felt vibrations and heard strange sounds as the roller coaster superstructure strained under their weight.
