Dynamite really made it seem like the New Day is going to make their AEW debut alongside Swerve Strickland. Will they? How will that work? We also talk about the Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega segment…
If you didn't watch the show, uh, I'm assuming you did watch the show, but on the show the Trios champions, who are now Hangman and Brodus, came out with their titles and they were celebrating, and then they were interrupted by Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana, who, you know, has had problems with all of them, has had feuds with all of them in the past.
He pointed out the, the histories he's had with all those guys.
Um, and then out came the demand and the lethal twist, and Ricochet basically called them all out saying that, you know, they shouldn't have lost that match.
Um, they should still be Trios champions.
They challenged, uh, the Trios champions to a match on Collision.
Um, but more interestingly, he basically told Swerve, "Hey, get out of here because you're on your own with a manager.
You're just here by yourself, and everybody else is in a trio." And then Swerve kind of walked off being like, "All right.
You're right.
Okay." That could mean several things.
But at least personally to me, it definitely seems like it's hinting at the New Day.
It could be some- it could be another tag team.
It could be FDR.
It could be someone else who's had issues with, you know, any of these teams, and I mean, ev- obviously everyone's had issues with Ricochet in, in the past.
It could be, uh, Tattoo Face, our buddy Tattoo Face could be showing back up.
So any of those things are entirely possible.
Uh, but the most likely option, at least as far as I can tell, is the New Day.
Now, what I'm wondering is will they announce this before All In? Because obviously that would help sell tickets.
That would help boost interest in the show if we knew it was gonna be the New Day guaranteed.
Like, if they came out, you know, a week before All In and were announced as far as partners, that'd be a huge deal.
Now, what they could do, and what I think they may do, is kind of hint at it, right? Being like, "Oh, the guys that we're bringing.
I, I do have some partners.
I have some guys who, you know, are just gonna show up in AEW for the first time, and they're really excited to break out of wherever they were before and..." You know, I'm not good at this, but, and then, you know, show up in AEW and be my partners, and just, you know, drop some hints that it could be Kofi and Austin Creed, and big enough, obvious enough hints so that it turns into like a, you know, CM Punk first dance thing where, like, they're not gonna tell you what happens.
It's still gonna be a surprise, but it's pretty obvious what's gonna happen.
