Grand Slam France Review

But before we get to that, uh, we haven't talked on this podcast since the Pac tribute episode of, uh, Dynamite that aired last week.

We did talk about Pac last week.

Uh, but we recorded that before the episode aired.

Uh, so just quick thoughts on that episode.

First of all, as everyone has said, huge kudos to, to Jon Moxley for basically keeping everyone together on that night.

That, that was a difficult night, not just, obviously not just for the fans, but more so for the wrestlers themselves, the crew, everyone who works in AEW who personally knew Pac and who was, you know, d- obviously distraught over, over the situation.

Um, Jon Moxley, you could tell, was kinda just like, "I'm gonna grit and bear it, and I'm gonna drag everybody through this, and because that's what Pac would've wanted, and no matter how tough that is, uh, that's what I'm going to do." And he did really get, you know, everybody through it.

The audience, the wrestlers, um, brought everybody through it.

Uh, m- I'd also like to, you know, just draw some attention to Tony Schiavone, who kinda did the same thing.

Um, Excalibur obviously knew Pac for a very long time, was having, you know, a difficult time obviously doing the, the tribute that he did during the ep- the episode, calling the action, um, because of his, you know, loss.

And, uh, Tony Schiavone, you know, was, uh, was professional, was, was caring, was...

Pretty much carried everybody through as well, especially Excalibur, especially the audience.

It's very easy to break down in those type of situations when, uh, you know, a close friend passes suddenly.

Um, and, you know, Tony Schiavone was a key part of keeping that episode going.

It's, you know, we've all said it, it's very unfortunate that, you know, AEW has become quite good at doing these tribute episodes.

It's not a, an enviable situation.

It's not a place where anybody wants to be where you're very good at doing tribute episodes to wrestlers who've died.

Um, but unfortunately, you know, there's been some tough times, you know, not only, you know, Pac and Brodie Lee, but also, you know, Rebel's still with us, but that was a tough episode to get through as well.

You know, Andy Williams, uh, all of it, very, very difficult for, for one company to deal with.

And they managed to handle these very tough situations with heart and with care and with respect, and that's very admirable, and I honestly hope they never have to do it again, or at least not anytime soon.
