David Spares Saul at En GediFaith That Refuses Revenge **1 Samuel 24** Saul enters a cave without knowing that David and his men are hiding inside it. For David’s followers, the moment looks like…
For grueling months, David has been fiercely running for his life.
He has hidden in dark forests, slept in dirt caves, moved desperately from city to city.
He has heavily protected people who later coldly considered betraying him.
He has lost his home, his royal position, and the absolute safety of ordinary life.
King Saul has pursued him totally relentlessly.
Then, without any warning, Absolutely everything changes.
Saul unknowingly enters the very cave where David and his men are deeply hiding.
He comes entirely alone.
He absolutely cannot see them.
He is completely, totally vulnerable.
David has a deadly weapon.
His men are closely watching.
The sworn enemy is easily within reach.
From a strictly human perspective, this is the absolute perfect moment.
One violent strike could permanently end the brutal wilderness.
One simple act could instantly remove the threat.
One quick death could smoothly open the immediate road to the throne.
It is measured strictly by whether we should.
