Most people rate themselves as above average in bed. Statistically, that's impossible. And the gap between how people assess their own performance and what their partner is actually experiencing is…
Okay, if you have read today's episode title, which is Why Most People Are Bad in Bed and Don't Know It, you might already be thinking, who do these people think they are? And you're probably not wrong on that, but...
I will say we are people that come from experience of being bad in bed.
And you'll hear more about that as we go through this episode.
But I think both of us come from a perspective of being on the other side now.
Like we can look back into phases of our marriage and be like, oh, yeah, I was pretty terrible.
Yeah.
Well, I can look back on my 20s and 30s and think, man, I was terrible then too.
I know as a teenager, even as a young adult, I thought I actually was good.
I thought I had the best techniques, the best moves.
But looking back, I was trained by culture.
I was trained by the movies I watched, the things I read, even porn in some cases.
And I think it built up my ego in this area.
And boy, I was wrong.
So the older I get, the more I'm like, wow, I was really off the mark.
And so if you've heard any of our story in these previous episodes of this podcast, you know, Scott came to me almost two years ago now and was like, hey, our sex life is pretty terrible.
We need to get better at this.
Well, you didn't say terrible.

Lacked interest.
Yeah.
So I was like, OK, we got to fix this.
And I was like, OK, fine, we'll fix it.
But so that's where we are now.
And in this episode, we're going to talk about that.
We're talking about five specific patterns that are backed by research that consistently show up in couples who feel like.
at least one partner, if not both, feel sexually dissatisfied if they allow themselves to look at their intimate life with a true lens.
Yeah, so it's going to be fun as we unpack these.
I don't know about fun.
Humbling, I don't know.
Yeah, maybe that's a little bit more
accurate.
So
we'll go ahead and tackle this on the other side.
