Send us Fan Mail 4 new listener questions: - Isn’t “eat whatever you want, just less of it” too vague for people who struggle with binge eating?…

And our first one today is, "Isn't eat whatever you want, just less of it too vague for people who are dealing with binge eating?" I unders-- I understand the question and yeah, it's, it's pretty big and it's pretty broad and it's pretty big and it's pretty broad on purpose.

I use that statement because I'm pushing back against the traditional and the classic toxic diet industry rhetoric.

And I understand that for some people it can bring up the whole well, e-eat less and move more thing.

First of all, we're leaving the move more completely off the table because it's unnecessary and it's a massive barrier for so many people when it comes to weight loss, myself included.

If I had to lose the weight y- through exercise, I wasn't gonna lose the weight, period.

I have an unfortunate relationship with physiotherapy that does involve keep doing these things, but that also for me, keeps the relationship, um, quite emotionally loaded between me and exercise, but that's neither here nor there.

The big thing with eat whatever you want, just less of it, is the freedom that I'm trying to help you find.

Because typically when we're told we have to lose weight, it starts to become about, "Well, what can't I do? Well, I can't eat this.

Those two things can really go hand in hand when it comes to weight loss, and then that becomes a barrier because all we end up doing is thinking about the food that we're not allowed to eat, trying to find ways to take the food that we've decided we are allowed to eat and make it more palatable, make it something that's more enjoyable, or we're just white-knuckling it through.

I, I lost the weight eating the foods that I knew and that I loved and that I was comfortable with, and that I found comforting.
