Roy CoughlanHostWell, for a long time, I used to do a practice called Five Rhythms Dance, which is like a freestyle movement meditation.
But in this one, you just completely let go and your body is just completely not in any way directed.
You're just letting your emotions and your feelings and your energy to come out in movement, which could be just really bizarre movement.
It could be not very fast or high energy, but it's just it's kind of chaotic.
And what most people find, I certainly found, is if I just completely release into that and just utterly let go of everything in that particular way of moving, there comes a point when right in the center of me is calm.
It's like all of the, any anxiety or confusion or overwhelm or fear or anything has just burnt off.
And actually in this practice, when that happens, you tip into the next rhythm, which is called lyrical.
Now, doing that with movement like that is actually a very, very fast way to get to that experience.
If we do it in life in general, where things are chaotic, We can actually do the same thing in terms of we just surrender to the chaos of it.
Yes, you can see that there's all the drawers for all the oil paints and everything is all well thought through.
But when they're in the middle of creating something, there's stuff everywhere.
