The only direction I've been given is multi-thousand dollar influencer wedding videos and photo shoots clearly done in sunny California with model-level bride, groom, and a team of videographers filming from multiple angles in expensive locations.

Anyways, I've been doing video and photo work for quite a while and have a decent portfolio, but I wouldn't say I'm near the quality of what they sent.

So I decided that to cover the inevitable annoyances of this project, I'll charge much over my usual rate and ask for the exact price of my would-be cinema rig.

I figured that if they were going to be annoying, they might as well cover my new camera.

When I gave them the number for two videos, each one minute long and multiple photos of them frolicking, et cetera, they exploded about how over the budget this is.

Am I the a-hole for charging them that much when I don't know for certain they even will be a client from hell?
