Leaders face adversity in Dallas

In our episode earlier this week, I promised that I would be back with another Nerd Out update later in the week, basically to bring us up to speed with what happened on the divisional end of the Stampede of Speed at the Texas Motorplex.

That was the Tuesday race.

And honestly, I was primed for some fireworks.

I really thought that there would be some results Tuesday that skewed the point standings that really laid the groundwork for championships across the board.

And honestly, that wasn't really the case.

There was very little that went on in Tuesday's Divisional that should have a significant impact on the championship chase in all categories across the board.

So that's good news for the incoming leaders, right? So that's JB Strassweg in top dragster who did compete Tuesday.

He lost early, but none of his...

In top dragster, there weren't really any competitors, championship competitors even competing on Tuesday.

That's going to get more into the weekend, which we'll get to in a little bit.

In top sportsman, that means that Kurt Frederick retains a precarious lead atop the national standings.

I don't think that lead will hold up, but it got through Tuesday.

In Competition Eliminator, I've detailed the two players there, Joe Carnichal and Jeff Taylor.

They were both in attendance Tuesday, but neither improved their score.

I believe JT got to the quarterfinal round.

Carnichal lost prior to that.

What that did was cement Joseph Carnichal's score.

It was unlikely that he was going to improve.

I think he had to win the race to improve.

He did not.

So his score at 659 is set.

We'll see what Jeff Taylor can do the rest of the way.

It'll come down to the three remaining national events largely for Jeff Taylor.

Superstock, Cooter, and Justin Paciello were both in attendance on Tuesday.

Neither improved.
