Meanwhile, I'll take upon myself a 100-day Nazirus, right? I think I mentioned a couple of times, I get a kick out of this guy.

I want to meet this guy who came up with this plan of starting Nazirus in 30 days, in 20 days.

a regular Nezir, and meanwhile he'll do a 100-day Nezir.

How in the world can he get 100 days into 20 days? That's exactly the dilemma.

That was Rav HaShayla.

Do we say, well, he can't get 100 days into 20 days, so he's not going to start yet.

Or do we say, no, he'll count 20 days, he'll do 30, and then he'll do another 80.

So the Gemara says, Why do we have to come up with such a convoluted case? Just say very simply, the guy says, in 20 days I'll take on regular Naziris.

Meanwhile, I'll do regular Naziris.

Meaning, in 20 days I'll start a 30-day Naziris, and right now I'll do a 30-day Naziris.

He obviously won't be able to do 30 days in those 20 days, so he'll do 20 of them now, and maybe 10 later, or maybe not.

So the Gemara says, Why don't we have a Shaila about a small Nazira? Says the Gemara, no.

One question, the other question, he asked.

Meaning, one on top of the other.

What does it mean, one on top of the other? Meaning, If you're going to say about a smaller Neziros, Since there are ten days left, right? The way you read it is, Since there are ten days remaining, They're not going to count, meaning...

he's not going to count 20 days in order to finish up 10 days later because 10 days is so insignificant.

So we say , those 10 days don't count, so we assume he doesn't start the Nazirahs before the 20 days.

So then , then for sure another for 100 days, , that would be counted, and therefore he'll start immediately the 20 days, he'll then interrupt it for 30 days, and bimash them the other days.

In other words, the Shaila of a guy who says, I'll start in Aziris in 20 days, meanwhile I'll observe 100 days, was based on a previous Shaila.

The previous Shaila is a guy who says, I'm going to observe... a Neziris in 20 days, and now I'll do 30 days.

And if you say in that case, he would not start observing now, because he'll only be remaining with 10 days after, what would you say about somebody who says, I'll keep 100 days now, because then he'll have a consequential Neziris after, namely of 80 days.

So that was the Shaila that Rava asked.

ואים תם צלוי מר חיילי? And even if you're going to say that a hundred days will take, will devolve now, what about somebody says, What if somebody says now, What if somebody says, I'll be a nazir after 20 days, but now I'm going to be a nazir oylam.

Presumably this means nazir oylam, a permanent nazir.
