Genetec's Lee Shelford says AI and cloud are giving security teams faster investigations while turning physical security systems into tools for broader business operations. Organisations should stop…
Lee ShelfordGuestSo earlier in this year, as I said, I managed to make my way to Montreal to see your headquarters, and I met Matthew Chevalier, and then he joined us in the pod a few months later.
As you just said, that is the thing now, isn't it? I've seen a touch of what it can do.

Yeah, it's a big thing at the moment, AI, but we're trying to obviously level set and make sure everybody is aware that it isn't a be-all and end-all.

There still needs to be the best supercomputer in the world, the one between our ears, making that final decision and making that common sense call, right? So, yeah, again, big educational piece.

Because ultimately, it's all about giving the human in the loop all the best tools they can do to do their job.

And obviously, speed up that time to resolve, that time to respond by using tools like this to cut down from hours of sifting from video to minutes.
Because the quicker you can respond to an incident, the easier it is to get a resolution from.

And of course, you might be able to send it to people that can take action when it matters most whilst there's still the incident unfolding rather than hours after the incident is concluded.
I think we got shown a demo of how easy it is to package up video evidence of a theft incident and package it all up and send it off to law enforcement and it all took minutes.
