Because sometimes the assignments that you're trying to get off of your plate is exactly the opportunity that someone else needs to grow.

This is about you recognizing that there is a capacity issue, there's an opportunity issue within your team, and you recognize that work may need to be redistributed.

And you want to do that in a way that allows people to grow rather than grumble, okay? Because this reminds me of some of my own experiences in leadership.

And I recognized that as we were continuing to grow, well, of course, so was the workload.

And we've got people in and recognize that, okay, we have to do things in a different way.

So I started to take a look at all of the work that was being done within the team.

And I had one particular employee, because this person was new, recognizing their skillset, I matched their work to their skillset.

And this person was not at all pleased initially when they received this work assignment.

And I did express, hey, I think that you have the capability to take this and make it your own and really be of benefit to the department.

Because at that point, we didn't have any focus and attention on a very important aspect of the business.

And so as time went on, this person became an expert and they grew to really enjoy their work.
