I can hardly believe that it's been 20 years since I left Disney and I started my own consulting business.

Like, seriously, where does the time go? And as I hit this milestone, I got really reflective, you know, around what does it really take to build a business over time? You know, like with insights that I couldn't have had when I first started out.

You know, I was in the weeds, like probably a lot of you are trying to figure out, like, who's my ideal clients or what do I want to offer? Or how do I consistently get those clients to invest in what I want to offer? All the while trying to keep the fear and imposter syndrome at bay.

I got a ton of stuff on my podcast and my videos on my blog that addresses all of this.

But what I want to do today is to share with you my reflections and perspective that only time could teach about the broader heroic journey of leaving a high profile career for the adventure of growing your own consulting or coaching business of your own, which at its core isn't about the tactics.

If you need information on the practical side of building a consulting or coaching business, I got a ton of episodes for you.

This is about the perspective on what creating greater success on your own terms and making the impact and income you're capable of truly entails for the long haul.

And my goal is, is I just wanna give that with lesson learned, the wisdom to you to make your process easier, or at least to normalize the experience of what you're going through.

A lot of times when we are in our head and we're dealing with all of these questions and wondering like, how do I really pull this thing off? How do I get the sustainable success? We think we're kind of on our own, but you're not.

So the bare minimum of what I hope you get out of this episode is this normalization is like, yeah, my journey is not completely unique.

Like there's specifics to it, but there's things that I can do and there's things that I can cultivate mindset wise and then strategy wise that comes out of that that can make my journey much more enjoyable, much more profitable.
