And he turned around and gazed into my eyes, drinking his entire hot chocolate brandy in one big sip before opening his mouth.
And then he asked me, what did it say? So I told him, but it didn't really say anything.

And then I told him about the language I created or utilized.
I don't think I can take credit of having invented it, but yeah.
Then I told him that the knocking became hammering and hammering became pounding and snarling.
It was a huge ordeal, I asked him.
But he didn't really seem interested in any of that.
He was more curious about what I had asked it.
And he did say it, not him, not her, not them.

Anyway, I told him that I asked if it lived there, to which it had replied, no.
To which Thomas replied, liar.
And I promised him that I was telling the truth.
You know, it did happen.
Not you, he said.

It is lying to you.
What is lying to me? I asked.
What's behind the red door? I asked.
You have to tell me.
Which is when his eyes darkened and he said, do not tell me what I have to do, errand boy.
Which I found quite rude of him to say.
I'm not an errand boy.
I do errands, yes, but I am a grown man, an assertive grown man.
