And things that I've accentuated and also picked up along the way, things that help people, first off, this is a really big one, and this is something that I work with people a lot, is that if you want the best version of you to show up, you have to start with the most authentic version of you showing up.

And yet most of us also do the one single thing that gets in our way, which is when people find out they have this big presentation coming up, the first thing that they do is they go to a device and they start writing.

And they start coming up with the written version of what they're going to present.

And the moment someone comes up with a written script and they try to start doing that in front of an audience, there's a different version of them that shows up that doesn't sound like the most authentic version of them.

It sounds like the version of them that they would have turned in as a term paper.

That's huge because there's nothing worse than having somebody you feel like they're reading to you and they're trying to make a presentation.

And people wind up when they get in front of a room full of people and they, well, it's bad enough when they read.

But even if they've memorized something, then they sound like they're reciting something where the sentences are too long.

There's a lot of subordinate clauses, things that we don't use when we speak.
