It really is wonderful to be with you all, and I know this is an additional meeting, one that you don't normally come to, and it's so amazing to see all of you here, and thank you very much.
So I said at the start on Sunday morning, first session, that Steve casually ran sort of six subjects by me that possibly we could look at.
God, the gospel, sin, holiness, hell, heaven, just to mention a few small ones.
But tonight we start on the biggest, clearly and obviously the biggest and most important of them all, God.
And I would need a preaching series of probably 10 weeks minimum, 20 weeks ideally, to really talk about the character and the nature of God.
And I am aware that a crash course is normally more of a crash than a course.
But I think we can make a good stab at it, and that's what we're going to try and do.
On the third session on Sunday night, I mentioned that there were five things that made up what I've called the forgotten backdrop.
The truth about man, the seriousness of sin, the certainty of judgment and the reality of hell.
And so this follows on from that and in these next four sessions, two tonight, two Thursday, we're gonna do our best to look at the character of God.
Just to let you know, I have written up a full 20-week preaching series into a manual.
I've sent it along to the office here, and as far as I know, it is going to be made available.
I'm just aware that I talk at a speed and at a depth that's going to be very difficult to take everything down.
If you can't capture everything you'd like to capture, I'm sure this can be made available.
