Have you ever hidden something so well that you yourself couldn't find it? Yes.

It's like this common human experience that we have, right? We've all done that, taken something really valuable and put it in a place just not to find it again.

Going away and Think, let me just place this somewhere safe.

And then a couple of weeks later, you're looking for it and you're standing there in your bedroom and you're asking, where would a clever person like me have hidden this thing? And you look in all the places that you'd normally go.

And how strange is it? We then go and look in all those same places again and then we go and look in all those same places again.

But it wasn't there the first time and we keep on looking in the same places.

And eventually we go and look in places where we know we wouldn't hide it.

Just do not find this thing.

It happens in our house quite often.

There's only two of us there and it ain't me.

So regularly.

There's a story in Matthew that Jesus tells as a parable.

And someone hides something of incredible value.

They protect it, they preserve it.

But the response to their action is met with an incredible rebuke and very, very harsh words.

Some of the harshest words that we find in the Bible.

Jesus is telling a story off the back of his disciples asking him, what is gonna happen in the end times? When will this be? How will we know that it's the end times? And in Matthew 25, Jesus tells a story.
