She says, hey, friends, I wanted to share my real story of true friendship about my closest circle of friends that is affectionately known as the tribe, which I can get behind.

This group of five longtime friends have shared the highest of mountaintops and the darkest of valleys together.

It is a rare day that goes by without us chirping somehow, some way with a prayer need in our text thread.

It was last year when one of those prayer needs became an impromptu, overwhelming prayer meeting that I tear up just thinking about.

My husband went in for a fusion of some neck vertebrae and in the course of his recovery, a small internal bleed was detected in the evening.

He wasn't struggling to breathe, and we were both joking while the professionals were taking steps to get him to surgery to fix whatever was causing it.

During that time, I sent a simple text telling my tribe that he was headed to surgery shortly to fix a small bleed and to please pray.

Immediately response, an immediate response was, do you need company? And I responded, I was fine.

An hour later, all four of them with husbands and teens in tow were sitting with my daughter and me in the little counseling room where you wait for the doctor to come.

A few minutes later, our church elders arrived and we quickly took over the empty chapel to pray and hang out.

There were tears, laughter and prayer in such a way that even the surgeon asked, what was going on? And when she came in, she was completely overwhelmed with my tribe and their support.

letter that talks about the tribe, if you will, is from our friend Bonnie Harstad.
